Environmental pollution

What is environmental pollution?

It is the presence in the environment of any (physical, chemical or biological) agents that do less favorable to the development of living things.

Contaminants may be in the state: solid, liquid and gas and are biodegradable and non-biodegradable.

The trash

It is the product of human actions, such as domestic, industrial, agricultural activities. It is difficult to dispose of trash properly, becoming in many cases, a problem for the environment.

Solid waste in our cities constitute a serious problem for deposition. A part of industrial solid waste may be flammable, corrosive and toxic, hazardous to the health of people.

Our planet is exposed to numerous pollutants that harm the welfare and health of living beings that inhabit it.

The United Nations stands out as culprits of pollution and the greenhouse effect to cities because "they occupy 2% of the world's land and produce 70% of these gases." This organization warns that the situation could worsen because many countries are having a very rapid growth, such as Brazil. China and India, and in turn they are emitting greenhouse gases.

Did you know that bees help detect environmental pollution?
  Researchers have discovered that many animals are fabulous biological indicators because they change their habits to certain contaminants. This is the case of bees in their legs pesticides or metals in areas where flying stick. Thus to study the composition of this waste could be found floating pollutants in the air of certain cities. It is also curious that bees with pollen seal their hives to protect them from environmental pollutants.
